Whether you are lonely, deprived of sex, or seeking a companion without the human flaws, you’ve probably thought about sex robots.
Please note: I will be referring to them as “Sex Robots” because this is their mainstream name, but in reality, most of us (especially the doll community) know that they won’t just be for sex, but also for love, companionship, and so much more. Love Robot is technically a better name.
Movies like Ex Machina, and video games such as Detroit: Become Human that feature human-like androids have only fueled many of our desires for sex robots and robot companions. We all know sex robots will come out eventually but how long will it take?
Initially, upon seeing the slow progress in sex dolls, I assumed it would take over 10 years for sex robots to finally arrive. It’s not easy to make a fully functioning robot with AI technology. This would require a lot of time, money, and research in a risque field that many investors would be hesitant to invest in. 10 years seemed like a conservative guess, but then I realized technology is advancing faster than many people expected. To explain, let me showcase 3 innovative companies in the race towards sex robots.
DS Doll Robotics
In my opinion, I believe DS Doll Robotics will be the first company to release a fully-functional sex robot. You may have heard of DS Doll before. They are a silicone sex doll manufacturer with over 10 years of experience. In 2018, they revealed their AI/Robotic Head prototype which could talk, make facial expressions, and look around. This was the first step towards sex robots.
Just 1 year later in 2019, they are already showcasing advancements their robotic body design. They are one of the only sex doll/robot companies working on not only an AI head, but a robotic body too. Seeing how quickly this passionate company advanced their sex robot prototype in under 1 year told me that it truly will not take 10 years for sex robots to arrive. If this rapid progress continues, we may have sex robots is just 5 years.
Be sure to follow DS Doll Robotics here. I truly believe they will be the first company to release true, life-like sex robots.
If you have never heard of DS Doll Robotics, you may have heard of RealDoll by Abyss Creations and their Harmony sex robot, which was showcased in several articles, videos, and documentaries. RealDoll is a premium sex doll manufacturer based in the USA that has been working on a sophisticated AI robotic head. Their doll, Harmony, is able to respond to questions, look around, and even moan with perfect lip syncing and realistic eye movement.
It is clear that a ton of work and passion has gone into the Harmony robot. She is very realistic in many ways but also shows how much more work needs to be done in perfecting sex robots which can take several more years.
The final company I would like to talk about is MissDoll. Unlike DS Doll and Real Doll, MissDoll is a lesser known company. They are a Chinese manufacturer who is also working on sex robot technology. They are the first company to create a sex doll/robot that can perform automatic blowjob movements as seen in these demonstrations in early 2019. The technology is still fairly primitive and unnatural, but it can only get better from here.
MissDoll is also known for modeling sex dolls after real life porn stars, such as Jaclyn Taylor:
They are also developing an innovative automatic masturbation device that supposedly releases in August 2019, as well as VR sex applications.
As you can see, MissDoll has their hands full in the automated sex/blowjob technology marketplace. They are not as focused on AI and a fully operational sex robot as DS Doll Robotics and RealDoll, but they are serving their own niches with many innovative products.
Sex Robots will be here sooner than most people think. Technology is advancing at exponential rates in ways we never thought possible. In just 1-2 years, DS Doll Robotics has created a sex robot with an AI head and robotic body that, as of August 2019, can move its arms, walk (still in development), and grab objects with its hands. This rapid advancement in technology leads me to believe sex robots will be available in about 5 years, but they probably won’t be perfected until 10 years. They certainly will not replace humans since they will be fairly primitive and unnatural in movement and AI in the early stages, but it is no longer a pipe dream. They’re coming, you will be too.
