Sleepy September’s silent slumber slips away as things finally begin to heat up. This week, prominent brands like Top-Cydoll and MMX returned with new heads, but did Moonvale and a JAV replica steal the show instead? Also, there’s a new anime brand and more beautiful Haptelle heads. Without further ado, let’s get September back on track with a much-needed comeback episode.

WM Doll

After years of refining their robotic head, WM Doll finally released their first one: Head #1068. But maybe because they took so long, it isn’t as impressive by today’s standards. It can talk using AI, blink, and move its head. I mean, if it works as intended, then that’s good enough for most people (though the motors sound a bit loud). Meanwhile, the Asian face isn’t too bad.

SE Doll

SE Doll shared a spicy new set of their T161C Nadia Voss as a policewoman. I think it’s the first time they put a torso head (from their SET series) onto a full-sized body and it fits perfectly.

Elsa Babe

Elsa released a new head called Monelle Kogetsu. Despite endless anime heads, this one has a yandere-style that’s somewhat interesting and unique.

Irontech Doll

Next, Irontech has a new set of Lexi (S42) on the 171cm body for the first time. Perhaps the final photoset of summer, it reminds me of the “sun-kissed” theme that had around a year ago.

Top-Cydoll

Bow down as Top-Cydoll returned with not one, but two, new heads. First, Claire is their latest Western beauty – who at first glance, didn’t stand out to me (too similar to their other heads?) – but she’s growing on me the more I look at her.

Next, they have a new Asian head called Rinka. Sadly, I have mixed feelings about her too – like she’s missing a certain softness and realism that their heads have. Her features are very sharp and defined.

MMX Doll

On the same wavelength, MMX Doll also had two new heads. First, their latest MengJie looks quite cute with a sort of timid or innocent face.

Next, if MengJie was warm, then Meyu feels cold. She has a sort of distant and annoyed face, giving her a “rich girl” vibe. Or maybe it’s just the outfit and posing that makes her seem a bit snobby.

Sanhui

Speaking of brands returning, Sanhui brought a new set of their 159E Mei (Head #46). A nice showcase of both face and body, with a wig that complements her face better than before.

IDO Doll

As previously teased, Ido Doll released the 159cm body (that was scanned from a real woman) with their recent Ella head. I have to say, the did a great job with the body. It’s so realistic that it makes the head look cartoony in comparison.

They also shared photos of Ella on the taller 175D body for reference, and in Wheat skin for the first time.

Firefly Doll

Continuing their homely series, Yelan is the latest house dweller, enjoying tea while the others clean. Firefly’s heads seem particularly prettier as of late.

Starpery

As part of their new Felibot series, Starpery released 2 new heads. Starting with Maki, this series is supposed to be “anime/cartoon-inspired,” and she has a bit of that in a cute, dollish way.

Next, they released a new head called Chujian. I find this one more charming and natural, presented really elegantly.

Fanreal

Fanreal released a new 108F torso, which is their lightest thus far at 22 kg (48.5 lbs).

Grace of Fanreal

Speaking of Fanreal, aotan (creator of Grace of Fanreal) teased an upcoming 155B body. Looks really realistic and well-proportioned in his Japanese style. He said this is just a sample and subject to change, but should release next month.

They also have a few new heads since I last checked. Since they’re all designed by aotan, they have an authentic Japanese feel rarely seen in the doll industry. A reminder that Grace of Fanreal is exclusive to the vendor, Kumadoll.

Doll Senior

Doll Senior teased a new head called Beichi (English name may be different). It’s probably their most anime-looking head so far, fitting for the 158G hentai body.

MD Doll

MD Doll released a new head called Fiona, who looks extremely familiar. To me, she looks almost identical to Monica (who I said looked like Fanreal’s Maria before). She doesn’t resemble Maria here though.

Moonvale

After much anticipation, Moonvale finally returned with their latest 160C Iris. Inspired by Lola Bunny, this would’ve made headlines had Climax Doll not already made one 2 years ago. But comparing the two side-by-side, Moonvale’s is definitely better – which is another win for them, and a win for Lola Bunny fans. She weighs 40 kg (88 lbs) and doesn’t have built-in gloves like Climax Doll’s version.

XYcolo

Still active, XYcolo shared new photos of their 160cm Xenia. It’s the same body as the AIO Yusi, but this one isn’t AIO. Apparently, they made a separate version of this body for their attachable heads – and I can see why (it’s a great body).

Sigafun

Remember when Sigafun released that 164cm BBW body? Well, they weren’t done just yet. This time, they presented her in a fox cosplay. One step closer to enticing someone to order this heavy doll, which I still can’t find the weight of.

Dolls Castle

Last week, I briefly showed Dolls Castle’s “original IP” 160cm Veloura, but I should probably show the whole thing. Ignoring the bat and mouse heads, I assume Veloura is supposed to be the main head based on the markings. It’s not for me, but it’s original as least. She looks like some kind of half animal, half alien hybrid.

Kiradols

Kiradols released a new head called Celestia as their heads get increasingly more normal. She looks like a typical anime schoolgirl, and might be based on a character.

MHDOLL

Meanwhile, a new anime brand called MHDOLL just launched. Their aesthetics are kinda weird (like Kiradols), but maybe that’s why they stand out. They have silicone heads on TPE bodies, and the style feels nostalgic in a way. From the factory photos, they’re apparently produced by Sigafun, which is unexpected. They have 6 heads and 3 body styles, but not all the sets are out so it’s unclear right now. They’re somewhat heavy as the 3 bodies range between 33.6 – 43.1 kg (74-95 lbs).

Kagami / MRL

Last in anime news, I might as well throw in Kagami again – who, as someone found out, is related to MRL. They released 2 new heads in collaboration with 犬魔人 (@wanwan_majin5), a popular Japanese artist. Like before, it’s in pre-sale with only 50 units (in China) so I don’t think anyone here can order one. Just throwing this here since they included videos showing the “usability.”

Haptelle

Haptelle had several new Western heads, and like before, they’re all quite beautiful. I admit, when they first launched, they didn’t catch my eye. But now, I’m kind of impressed. Their designs keep improving so they’re definitely on my radar now.

JAV

Last but not least, I stumbled upon a new JAV replica doll of Miu Shiromine. Supposedly produced by momoSEIKA (and authorized by ALP – her agency), are JAV replicas back on the menu? (also, whatever happened to Zucki?) Apparently, a brand called momoSEIKA had a presale of a Miu Shiromine figure earlier this year, and while I thought this too was a figure at first, it’s apparently 170cm tall (34 kg). I’ve seen many JAV replicas, but this one has arguably the most natural head I’ve seen. Yes, there’s a bit of uncanny-ness to her, but I like the soft expression opposed to the usual, wide-eyed heads.

The body, on the other hand, doesn’t do the head justice in my opinion. It feels like the whole budget went towards the head, and then they threw her onto a generic body. Also, the proportions seem really weird at first glance. Maybe the background props are just weirdly sized because she looks like a large figurine for some reason. Last, momoSEIKA is a completely unknown company so there are some red flags off the bat..

Conclusion

That wraps up a little (or big?) comeback to the month of September. Granted, last week’s tall dolls were worthy of praise as well. Top-Cydoll and MMX returned, but both their heads felt somewhat meh to me. I guess you can’t strike gold everytime. Meanwhile, Moonvale returned with a banger of Lola Bunny – but since Climax Doll made one 2 years ago, it didn’t hit quite as hard. Still, I thought theirs was better than Climax Doll’s, and is Moonvale bringing existing characters to life now? That opens up a lot more possibilities. Anyway, who really impressed me was Haptelle, who’s heads I liked even more than Top-Cydoll and MMX this week. They’re definitely one to watch. And last, that JAV head looks really good, but there’s something suspicious about it.. I guess time will tell because I don’t see her listed anywhere yet. Until next time!
