What Size Sex Doll Should You Get?

One of the most important decisions when it comes to buying a sex doll is deciding what size to get. Sex dolls are usually sorted by height, which can range from as small as 65 cm (2’1″) to as tall as 173 cm (5’8″). What many beginners don’t realize is that weight plays a large factor in this decision. The taller the doll, the heavier it is.

The Taller the Doll, The Heavier it is

When choosing a doll, you want her to be as realistic as possible, therefore you want her to have a realistic woman’s height. However, sex dolls are much heavier than many people realize. In general, a 150 cm (4’11) doll usually weighs around 30 kg (66 lbs) and a 170 cm (5’7″) doll usually weighs around 40 kg (88 lbs) – be sure to check the specifications of each doll to see the actual weight.

At first glance, it doesn’t seem too bad. Humans weigh over 88 lbs so a 170 cm sex doll shouldn’t be that hard to lift, right? WRONG. Unlike humans, sex dolls are fully dead weight and the weight is also distributed awkwardly along the doll. They will essentially feel twice as heavy as you would think, and lugging a heavy doll around is hard work. If you have back problems, it’s best to get a smaller doll due to the weight, otherwise, a heavier doll can be a good workout but tends to feel very inconvenient for most people.

Why Are Sex Dolls So Heavy?

TPE and silicone sex dolls are not inflatable sex dolls which are filled with air. TPE and silicone sex dolls have a metal skeleton interior, which forms the “bones” of the doll and is quite heavy. On the outside, the doll is made of solid TPE or silicone material, which all together is also quite heavy because it is a very thick layer of material. Needless to say, the combination of the metal skeleton and TPE or silicone material results in a heavy doll, and the taller the doll, the more metal and TPE/silicone is used, resulting in a heavier doll.

The Perfect Height and Weight

If you’re a beginner, you’re probably wondering what height and weight is best for you. If you never owned a doll before, lighter is usually better. A lighter doll will be easier to move around, pose, and change positions during sex, but comes with a cost. The lighter a doll, the shorter she will be. One thing people usually notice when they receive their doll is that it is heavier and shorter than they expected.

How Short is Too Short?

In my opinion, 140 cm is the smallest realistic size before it starts to feel awkward and unnatural. If you are short, then a 130 cm doll might still feel realistic. Honestly, I think 140 cm is the smallest you should go if you are looking to experience a realistic companion for cuddling and sex. Any smaller and you will lose the companionship experience and end up with a sex toy instead.

We had a 6 foot tall customer in the past that purchased a 140 cm Ariel (Piper Doll) and loved the doll. He told us he had sex with the doll in many different positions and never have any problems with the height.

But I Want a Taller Doll?

If you are a beginner inexperienced in handling the weight of a sex doll, but still want a tall doll, then I say go for it, but know what you are getting into. Many doll owners simply cannot connect with short dolls. They feel the greatest love, companionship, and realism with a tall doll closer to their own height. That is perfectly understandable. In this case, I would recommend getting a doll closer to your height for the realism (such as 155 cm-170 cm) but expect it to be heavy. As time goes on, your muscles will adapt and you will be able to handle your doll much more easier, but be prepared to work a little harder once you receive your taller doll.

Different Dolls Have Different Specifications

Let me end this article by mentioning that different dolls have different specifications. For example, not all 150 cm dolls weigh the same, just like not all 170 cm dolls weigh the same. There’s lots of different factors that determine the weight such as body proportions, doll brand, material, and more. Therefore, make sure you always look at the specifications of the doll you’re interested it.

Insider secret: The weights displayed is almost always slightly less than what it actually weighs! Manufacturers know people want lighter dolls so sometimes they will purposely round down the weight when in reality, it weighs a little more, so keep that in mind.

I have got that’s smaller what do I do with that send it back do put in water to make it biger

This has to be a joke. Putting a doll in water doesn’t make it bigger.

I’m an older man, will be 80 in October 2022, and I’m looking for a sex doll to meet my needs. I’ve looked at many online and the under $600 price is better for my budget. I’m abut 5 ft 8 inches tall myself. While I want a sex doll for my needs, I would hope a storage case is available to hide the sex doll away from sons and grandchildren. OF CONCERN also is whether the vagina will accept a penis that has a severe upward bend, perhaps 35 to 40 degrees when stiff. Hoping you can address my concerns. CARL

I can tell you one thing now. I have a TPE sex doll and they are very heavy. I’m 5ft 8in and 58 years old and the weight of it can be too much at times. On the plus side. Mine is 130cm tall and are great fun. If I was your age, I would just settle down with some kind of sex toy for men and watch a bit of porn on the iPad. Everybody watch some porn videos on their iPad or tablet, not everyday only when you are in the mood for it. So don’t bother with a TPE or Silicone sex doll they will finish you off because of the weight of them. I got a bad back at the moment after using mine

Will an 83lb TPE doll loose shape over time from its own weight?

    1. Steven

      Hi Don,
TPE dolls don’t lose their shape over time. If they lay on a surface for a long time (weeks-months), they might get a little flat (which can usually be reversed) which is why it’s recommend to move the doll around every so often or to hang them for long-term storage. The TPE material can deteriorate or tear over time if they aren’t properly cared for, but they generally don’t “lose their shape.”

continuing on my last comment is 108cm a good starting doll?

    1. Steven

      Hi Sam,
It depends on many factors, such as your height, physical capabilities, personal preferences, storage, etc. Everyone is different. A 108cm is a slightly-larger mini doll. Big enough to sit on your lap comfortably, but too small to feel like a real woman when having sex or cuddling. Some people like mini dolls while others prefer the immersion of a full-sized doll. It’s good for a beginner in terms of weight, but it depends on what you’re looking for.

is 3’5 a good height for a first time buyer of a sex doll?

  6. Luna

Hi I want get a doll but a 153cm sex doll will good for me I’m 5’6. I don’t know if a 153cm sex doll will good to have

    1. Steven

      Hi Luna,
150cm is a pretty good sex doll height. It is a little short compared to a real person, but it is a good balance between height and weight. Everyone is different. If you like the way the doll looks, I think 153cm is probably fine. Dolls closer to your height adds more realism, but at the cost of being heavier and harder to maneuver.

they ARE sex toys, and small dolls are great. dolls are not for companionship; theyre for sex, and hunching on a 4 ft doll is awesome sauce. plus it isn’t hard to lift it in and out of the tub to clean it. talk about that. these aren’t meant to be human replacements, man.

    1. AZ

I didn’t get the impression he was saying it’s a human replacement.
